Transportation Sales Representative – Logistics
Location: Moncton, NB
Work Model: In-office, with periodic Maritime-region travel
Salary: $55,000 base salary plus commission; OTE approximately $75,000
A growing transportation and logistics company is seeking a Transportation Sales Representative to help expand its customer base across New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and the broader Maritime region.
This is a business development-focused role for someone with a transportation, freight, logistics, courier, trucking, warehousing, or 3PL background who enjoys prospecting, building relationships, and developing new customer opportunities.
The successful candidate will be based primarily out of the Moncton office and will focus on identifying new business, meeting prospective customers, supporting pricing discussions, and helping grow the company’s regional presence.
Role Overview
This role is best suited to an outgoing, commercially driven individual who understands the transportation industry and is comfortable pursuing new business through cold calls, referrals, networking, customer meetings, and local market development.
The company provides transportation and logistics solutions across multiple service lines, including ground freight, LTL, dry van, flat deck, expedited, hot shot, warehousing, and time-sensitive freight.
Primary Responsibilities
Identify, source, and secure new business opportunities across the Maritime region
Build a pipeline of prospective customers through cold calling, networking, referrals, market research, and in-person outreach
Meet with prospective clients to understand their transportation, warehousing, and logistics needs
Promote transportation services including LTL, dry van, flat deck, expedited, hot shot, warehousing, and time-sensitive freight solutions
Develop opportunities with customers in industrial, manufacturing, distribution, construction, energy, mining, refinery, and other freight-intensive sectors
Attend customer meetings and local business events to build market presence
Support pricing discussions, quotes, and service proposals
Understand customer lanes, equipment needs, urgency, service expectations, and cost drivers
Grow and maintain strong customer relationships through consistent follow-up and service support
Work closely with internal operations, customer service, warehouse, and leadership teams to ensure customer needs are met
Additional Responsibilities
Support growth in both the Moncton/New Brunswick market and the Dartmouth/Halifax/Nova Scotia market
Travel periodically within the Maritime region for customer meetings and market development
Assist with customer problem-solving and service follow-up as needed
Contribute to a positive, team-oriented branch culture
Help support the continued growth of the East Coast operation
Required Qualifications
Transportation, logistics, freight forwarding, trucking, courier, warehousing, 3PL, or related industry experience
Minimum 1 year of transportation pricing experience
Strong understanding of freight lanes, equipment types, customer requirements, and transportation terminology
Ability to prospect, cold call, open doors, and develop new customer relationships
Excellent verbal communication skills
Strong written and email communication skills
Strong problem-solving ability and responsiveness to customer needs
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
Strong time management, organization, and multitasking skills
Team-first attitude with willingness to support others
Secondary school education
Preferred Background
Previous transportation, freight, logistics, courier, trucking, warehousing, or 3PL sales experience
Experience selling LTL, dry van, flat deck, expedited, hot shot, or time-sensitive freight services
Existing customer relationships in the Maritime transportation market
Experience with cross-border freight between Canada and the United States
Familiarity with the New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, or broader Atlantic Canada customer base
Experience working in a smaller branch, entrepreneurial office, or growth-stage environment

Compensation and Benefits
Base salary: $55,000
On-target earnings: approximately $75,000
