Overview:
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Plastic Injection Molding & Packaging Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, monitoring, and maintaining injection molding and packaging equipment to produce high-quality plastic products while meeting production, quality, and safety standards.
What you will be doing:

Operate plastic injection molding machines and automated packaging equipment in accordance with established operating procedures.

Perform machine start-up, shutdown, and changeovers as required.

Load raw materials and packaging supplies into machines.

Monitor machine performance and production output to ensure efficient operation.

Inspect molded parts for defects such as flash, short shots, sink marks, discoloration, or dimensional inconsistencies.

Assemble, label, count, and package finished products according to customer specifications.

Conduct routine quality inspections using measuring tools and visual inspection standards.

Record production quantities, downtime, scrap, and quality data accurately.

Perform basic troubleshooting and minor machine adjustments to maintain product quality and minimize downtime.

Report equipment malfunctions, quality concerns, and safety hazards promptly to the supervisor.

Maintain a clean and organized work area using 5S principles.

Follow all company policies related to safety, quality, food-grade or customer-specific requirements (where applicable), and environmental compliance.

Assist with preventive maintenance activities and machine cleaning.

Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, and efficiency.
What you must have:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Previous experience operating plastic injection molding machines is preferred.

Experience with automated packaging equipment is considered an asset.

Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills

Ability to read production schedules, work instructions, and quality documentation.

Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Lean Manufacturing principles is an asset.

Forklift certification is an asset.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality products.

Ability to identify molding defects and take corrective action within established procedures.

Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a production team.

Good communication and organizational skills.

Ability to meet production targets while maintaining quality standards.

Flexibility to work rotating shifts and overtime as required.
Physical Requirements

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg).

Frequent bending, reaching, twisting, and repetitive hand movements.

Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and safety footwear.
Salary/Rate Range: $55,000.00 - $62,500.00
