Overview:
Our client, a well-established construction group, has an immediate opening for a Superintendent supporting their Infrastructure division's land development and subdivision projects in the Edmonton area. The Superintendent is responsible for the overall coordination and execution of underground utility construction activities, including water, sanitary, and storm systems. This role provides leadership to site foremen and crews, ensures safe and efficient project delivery, and maintains compliance with project specifications, municipal standards, and company policies.
What you will be doing:

Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with established safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements

Supervise, coordinate, and organize all underground construction activities on site

Provide clear direction to site Foremen to ensure roles, responsibilities, and daily objectives are understood

Interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, and regulations to support quality execution and risk management

Oversee all phases of the project, including scheduling, sequencing, and quality control testing

Anticipate, identify, and resolve construction issues, conflicts, and schedule challenges

Communicate potential risks, delays, or work interferences to senior management and assist in developing solutions

Collaborate with Project Managers and the construction management team to develop and implement project execution plans

Attend site and coordination meetings as required

Conduct work direction talks and support ongoing safety communication

Complete required reporting and documentation related to site operations
What you must have:
-
Minimum 5–8 years of experience as a Superintendent in underground utilities, with a focus on land development and subdivision projects

Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple crews and priorities

Excellent organizational, planning, and problem-solving abilities

Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with field teams, management, and external stakeholders

Ability to perform in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Salary/Rate Range: $150,000.00 - $185,000.00
