Sales Specialist – Power Protection

Location: Remote – United States; Western U.S. preferred
Salary: $130,000–$150,000 base + 20–30% annual bonus

Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Sales Specialist – Power Protection to drive sales growth for its power protection solutions across the United States.

This is a technically oriented sales role focused on developing and closing opportunities through customer engagement, proposal development, commercial execution, and collaboration with regional and strategic account teams.

The ideal candidate will have established sales experience within the electric power industry along with practical knowledge of electrical test instruments and their applications. This role requires someone who can combine technical credibility with commercial capability to help move opportunities from customer discussions through proposal, negotiation, and order closure.

The position is remote anywhere in the United States, with a preference for candidates located in the Western U.S.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Lead and support the development of proposals and quotations for power protection products and solutions.
  • Ensure pricing, commercial terms, technical information, and proposals are accurate and delivered on time.
  • Follow opportunities throughout the sales cycle and contribute directly to successful order closure.
  • Develop competitive commercial solutions based on customer requirements and sales strategy.
  • Work with account managers to identify, develop, and pursue customer opportunities.
  • Participate in customer meetings, presentations, and commercial negotiations.
  • Communicate technical and commercial value propositions to customer decision-makers and influencers.
  • Develop relationships with existing and prospective customers.
  • Collaborate with product, technical, marketing, operations, and sales teams to develop account and opportunity strategies.
  • Track sales activity, order intake, proposal success rates, and product penetration.
  • Monitor competitor activity, market conditions, and evolving customer requirements.
  • Provide customer and market feedback to support sales and product strategy.

What You Must Have

  • 5–10 years of sales experience.
  • Demonstrated sales experience within the electric power industry.
  • Knowledge of electrical test instruments and their applications.
  • Experience developing proposals, quotations, and commercial solutions.
  • Experience participating in customer presentations and negotiations.
  • Ability to work effectively with account management, product, technical, and operational teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple opportunities, deadlines, and priorities simultaneously.
  • Experience working with ERP systems; SAP experience is an asset.
  • BA/BS degree; advanced degree preferred.

Preferred Background

Experience selling electrical test and measurement equipment or related solutions into environments such as:

  • Electric utilities
  • Transmission and distribution organizations
  • Substation and protection testing
  • Power-system testing and diagnostics
  • Electrical testing organizations and contractors
  • Industrial power customers

Experience with protection testing, relay testing, substation testing, or related power protection applications would be particularly valuable.
