Sage Intacct Construction Specialist & PM
Lethbridge, Alberta • Direct Hire • September 05, 2026 • 90199
Base Salary Range: $140000 - $180000
Job Title: Sage Intacct Construction Specialist & PM
Job ID: 90199
Location: Lethbridge, Alberta
What you will be doing:
Project Management & Delivery Governance
-
Own assigned Construction projects from internal kickoff through client kickoff, design, configuration, testing, training, go-live, hypercare, and transition to support.
-
Build and maintain a credible project plan in Smartsheet or the approved project-management system, including milestones, owners, dependencies, risks, decisions, and client actions.
-
Establish realistic delivery dates only when scope, design readiness, resource capacity, and dependencies support the commitment.
-
Lead internal and client-facing project kickoffs so roles, scope, governance, escalation paths, milestones, and go-live definitions are understood.
-
Maintain visible project health and escalate schedule, resource, technical, client-readiness, margin, or relationship risks before they become late surprises.
-
Own scope discipline on assigned projects: identify out-of-scope requests, route change requests, and prevent informal commitments from becoming hidden obligations.
-
Manage customer expectations with professional firmness, including the ability to say "no," "not yet," or "this requires a change request" when appropriate
-
Drive formal sign-off and comprehension at key gates, particularly design, configuration, training readiness, go-live readiness, and major scope changes.
-
Protect project continuity by ensuring critical decisions, customer commitments, and configuration rationale are documented and accessible to the broader delivery team.
Construction SME, Design & Advanced Implementation
-
Lead complex Construction discovery and design workshops that translate real construction operations into an approved, documented system design.
-
Understand and apply construction transaction flows including budgets, commitments, purchasing, job costing, cost capture, change orders, revenue, progress billing, retainage, project reporting, and cash implications.
-
Oversee Sage Intacct Construction configuration while provide team configuration support for related construction-focused modules in alignment with approved design decisions and governance standards.
-
Remain hands-on in technically complex work, including advanced configuration, testing, troubleshooting, reporting, forms, and construction-specific workflow design.
-
Validate functional scenarios before customer-facing demonstrations, training, or go-live activity.
-
Identify technical depth changes early and document the rationale, impact, dependencies, and required client decision before proceeding.
-
Act as the senior internal escalation point for Construction solution questions while knowing when Sage, a third-party vendor, or another specialist must be engaged.
-
Ensure the implementation reflects the right construction solution -- not merely a configuration that technically works.
Implementor Leadership -- Shape, Steer, Coach & Validate
-
Translate project needs into clear work packages for implementors with context, expected outcome, source materials, due date, dependencies, escalation point, and definition of done.
-
Confirm the implementor understands the assignment before work begins; do not rely on assumption or incomplete task direction.
-
Maintain stable priorities wherever possible and communicate priority changes deliberately rather than repeatedly redirecting work midstream without context.
-
Delegate work appropriate to the capability of each implementor and resist taking work back simply because personal execution may be faster in the moment.
-
Coach implementors through problem solving, configuration logic, construction workflows, customer communication, and Asyma delivery standards.
-
Inspect completed work for quality and provide specific feedback so learning compounds across projects.
-
Identify competency gaps early and partner with PMO / Operations on training, certification, mentoring, or workload adjustments.
-
Create a team environment where resources know what they own, understand why it matters, and can surface uncertainty or risk without waiting for failure.
-
Develop bench strength so the Construction lane becomes less dependent on any one individual.
Client Leadership, Training & Relationship Management
-
Build trusted customer relationships without allowing the relationship to override scope, governance, or professional boundaries.
-
Communicate project status, risks, decisions, client responsibilities, and next steps clearly and consistently.
-
Deliver or oversee structured training that is tested in advance and allows customers to successfully complete end-to-end processes.
-
Ensure customer comprehension, not attendance alone, is the standard for training success.
-
Escalate deteriorating customer confidence, repeated missed commitments, or relationship risk to leadership early.
-
Distribute customer confidence across the Asyma team rather than allowing critical relationships to depend exclusively on the Senior Specialist.
What you must have:
-
Sage Intacct and Intacct Construction certification required.
-
Minimum 5 years of accounting, financial-management software, or business-systems implementation experience, with meaningful hands-on Sage Intacct experience strongly preferred.
-
Demonstrated experience leading multiple full-lifecycle implementations as the accountable Project Manager or delivery lead.
-
Demonstrated Construction implementation experience involving job costing, project accounting, commitments, purchasing, change orders, progress billing, retainage, AP / AR, reporting, and construction financial workflows.
-
Strong accounting logic and ability to explain GL structure, project accounting, dimensional design, journal controls, reporting implications, and workflow dependencies.
-
Demonstrated ability to scope work, create project plans, delegate effectively, manage competing priorities, and escalate early.
-
Experience coaching, mentoring, or technically leading other implementors or consultants.
-
Experience working with third-party software vendors, integrations, or construction technology ecosystems is an asset.
-
High comfort with structured project-management tools such as Smartsheet and with formal project governance, documentation, sign-off, and change control.
-
Strong written and verbal communication skills and professional presence with customers, executives, consultants, and vendors.
-
Ability to operate independently while making work, workload, risk, and decisions visible to the broader team.
