Make a Difference in a Practice That Puts Patients, People, and Good Medicine First

Are you a Small Animal Veterinarian looking for a full-time opportunity where you can build meaningful client relationships, practice high-quality medicine, and grow your earning potential?

We are partnering with a well-established, independently owned veterinary hospital in Chicago's vibrant Pilsen neighborhood to identify a full-time Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) with an interest in small-animal general practice, urgent care, or a combination of both.

This is an opportunity to join a collaborative veterinary team that prioritizes compassionate patient care, thoughtful clinical decision-making, client education, and individualized treatment plans. The hospital provides comprehensive veterinary services for dogs and cats, including preventive care, diagnostics, sick-pet visits, general surgery, dental care, and same-day urgent care.

Whether your passion is building long-term relationships with patients and their families or evaluating and treating pets with immediate medical needs, this opportunity offers the flexibility to bring your clinical interests and strengths to the practice.

What You'll Do

  • Provide high-quality medical care to canine and feline patients across wellness, preventive medicine, and sick-pet visits.
  • Evaluate and manage urgent-care cases, including same-day medical concerns and acute conditions appropriate for an outpatient veterinary setting.
  • Perform physical examinations, develop diagnostic and treatment plans, and recommend appropriate laboratory testing and diagnostic imaging.
  • Communicate clearly with pet owners, helping them understand diagnoses, treatment options, expected outcomes, and costs.
  • Build lasting relationships with clients through compassionate service, education, and individualized care.
  • Collaborate with veterinary technicians, client service professionals, and fellow medical team members to deliver an excellent patient and client experience.
  • Perform routine surgical and dental procedures consistent with your training, experience, and clinical interests.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and uphold high standards of veterinary medicine, patient safety, and professional ethics.

What We're Looking For

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree.
  • Active Illinois veterinary license, or eligibility to obtain one.
  • Experience in small-animal general practice, urgent care, or emergency medicine is preferred.
  • Strong diagnostic, clinical decision-making, and communication skills.
  • A compassionate, team-oriented approach to patient care and client relationships.
  • An interest in practicing evidence-based medicine while considering each patient's individual needs.
  • A commitment to continuing professional development and maintaining high standards of care.

Both experienced veterinarians and doctors with the right clinical foundation and a desire to continue developing their skills are encouraged to explore the opportunity.

Compensation & Earning Potential

This is a direct-hire, full-time opportunity offering a competitive annual salary and the potential for a production-based compensation plan designed to reward medical productivity and increase overall earning potential.

The compensation structure can be discussed based on the doctor's experience, clinical interests, and preferred approach to compensation. For veterinarians who are motivated to grow their production and income, an incentive-based model may be an attractive option.

Specific compensation details will be discussed confidentially during the recruiting process.

Why Consider This Opportunity?

  • A personalized approach to veterinary medicine: Provide individualized care with an emphasis on communication, client education, and thoughtful treatment planning.
  • A diverse clinical caseload: Combine preventive and general practice medicine with same-day urgent-care cases.
  • Modern diagnostic capabilities: Work with in-house diagnostic resources, laboratory testing, and diagnostic imaging.
  • A collaborative team environment: Partner with veterinary professionals who value compassionate care and strong client relationships.
  • A desirable Chicago location: Practice in Pilsen, a historic and culturally rich neighborhood with convenient access to surrounding Chicago communities.
  • Competitive compensation: Explore a salary-based structure and/or production incentives that can reward your contributions and support your earning goals.
