Overview
A privately held employee benefits consultancy is hiring Business Development Representatives to help employers find better ways to manage healthcare costs. This is a phone-first sales role with structured coaching and a development path toward becoming a producer.
What you will be doing
- Research Texas employers and connect with HR leaders, CFOs and business owners.
- Make outbound calls, handle objections and schedule qualified discovery meetings for producers.
- Work toward 275 calls per week and 14 qualified opportunities per quarter. Qualified meetings must take place, meet the target client profile and move into the pipeline.
- Maintain accurate prospect and activity records in HubSpot; use ZoomInfo and Sales Navigator for research.
- Participate in daily sales coaching and develop knowledge of employee benefits solutions.
What you bring
- Clear phone communication, resilience, curiosity and a willingness to apply feedback.
- Comfort with consistent outbound activity and measurable goals.
- Cold-calling, door-to-door sales or relevant internship experience is helpful; insurance experience is not required.
- A Life and Health license is helpful, or willingness to obtain one.
Compensation, benefits and development
- $60,000 annual base salary.
- Quarterly performance bonuses: $2,500 at 75% of quota, $5,000 total at 100%, and up to $7,500 at the additional closed-business tier.
- Additional commission equal to 5% of revenue from sourced business that closes, paid for the first year.

- A typical 12-24 month development path toward a producer role, based on performance and readiness.
Work arrangement
Hybrid, with Monday and Friday in office. The New Braunfels office is established; the downtown Austin office is scheduled to open February 1, 2027.
