This is a high-travel, customer-facing field service position supporting the installation, calibration, maintenance, and repair of advanced mechanical testing systems. The role requires both strong electromechanical troubleshooting ability and comfort working with customers in regulated, standards-driven environments (e.g., ISO/IEC 17025). The successful candidate will support a broad portfolio of test systems—from electromechanical frames and torsion instruments to environmental chambers and medical device test equipment—while delivering training and ensuring compliance with accreditation and calibration requirements.
What you will be doing:

Install, commission, service, and repair a wide range of materials and component testing systems.

Calibrate equipment to required procedures and accreditation standards (ISO/IEC 17025).

Train end users on system operation, software, test methods, and best practices.

Evaluate test results for accuracy and reasonableness; modify or develop new test methods where required.

Troubleshoot electronic, electrical, mechanical, and control-system-related issues using schematics and technical documentation.

Prepare calibration reports and service documentation in line with quality standards.

Maintain tools, parts, documentation, and service vehicle in accordance with company requirements.

Coordinate with the service scheduling team to optimize travel routes and service timelines.

Support accreditation initiatives, process improvements, and internal technical training programs.

Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through timely communication and professional on-site presence.

Submit weekly reports and maintain accurate service records.

Travel up to 80% across the U.S. to customer sites.
What you must have:

Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (engineering, electronics, mechanics, or similar) or equivalent industry experience.

Experience with universal testing machines, extensometers, or mechanical test systems is strongly preferred.

Calibration or technical metrology background is a strong asset.

Ability to meet accreditation expectations under ISO/IEC 17025 and A2LA guidelines.

Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills across electrical, mechanical, and controls domains.

Clear communication skills and a high degree of professionalism in customer environments.

Valid U.S. work authorization and ability to travel extensively.
