Business Analyst – Data, Analytics, and Reporting

Kelowna, British Columbia • Contract • November 29, 2025 • 84327

Job Title: Business Analyst – Data, Analytics, and Reporting
Job ID: 84327
Location: Kelowna, British Columbia

Overview:
The Business Analyst is a key member of the Data, Analytics & Reporting (DAR) team who helps transform leadership ideas into actionable data solutions. This role bridges the gap between executive vision and technical execution by engaging senior stakeholders in structured, evidence-driven conversations that clarify what they truly need — and why. The successful candidate will be comfortable leading white-paper style exercises with Deans, Directors, and executives to get ideas “on paper,” challenge assumptions, and refine requests into well-defined Business Intelligence (BI) solutions. Your work ensures the DAR team focuses its energy on building meaningful, decision-ready tools rather than chasing unclear or shifting requirements.

What you will be doing:

  • Develop a clear understanding of DAR’s service offerings, data assets, and analytical capabilities.

  • Lead working groups and stakeholder consultations to capture business needs and decision goals.

  • Facilitate whitepaper-style sessions to translate high-level ideas into structured, documented BI requirements.

  • Guide stakeholders to think deeply about the decisions they want to enable through data — ensuring clarity before technical development begins.

  • Draft concept notes and scoping documents that define BI solution objectives, key metrics, MVP (Minimum Viable Product) scope, timelines, and success criteria.

  • Collaborate with the DAR technical team to assess available data, evaluate feasibility, and plan MVP builds with checkpoints.

  • Maintain consistent communication with both stakeholders and technical teams to ensure expectations are realistic and aligned.

  • Promote a culture of disciplined, purpose-driven analytics across leadership and operations.

What you must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field (Master’s preferred).

  • Minimum 5 years in business analysis, data strategy, or marketing roles.

  • Proven ability to facilitate conversations with executive and senior leadership audiences.

  • Experience producing high-quality documentation (e.g., whitepapers, wireframes, BI proposals, or business cases).

  • Familiarity with Process Mapping, Design, Business Intelligence tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.) and enterprise data environments.

Skills & Competencies

  • Confident communicator — able to lead discussions with executives and challenge ideas constructively.

  • Strong analytical thinking and documentation skills — adept at putting abstract ideas into structured form.

  • Strategic mindset — focuses on clarity of purpose and decision impact, not just data outputs.

  • Excellent organizational skills; able to manage multiple priorities and maintain accountability across teams.

  • Understanding of data governance, reporting standards, and analytics workflows.
