Payroll Administrator contract - downtown Toronto, hybrid, (6-13 months)
Key responsibilities include overseeing day to day payroll processing. Verify transactions and calculations processed by the payroll clerks. Provide technical guidance requiring application and interpretation of data, facts, procedures and policies with the Payroll system.
Act as liaison between payroll and the system to ensure documentation of system functions, capabilities, and to facilitate training of the payroll staff. Continuously monitor, recommend, monitor and implement process improvement.
Payroll-related account reconciliations. Advise the payroll team members on proper accounting treatment of complex transactions. Perform periodic internal audits of various payroll areas and prepare for external or internal auditors. Upload various earning and deduction codes to the system and use pre-defined procedures.
Prepare reports for external and internal customers by creating or updating access queries as needed. Assist with testing payroll system releases and updates by developing, updating and verifying test scenarios and report on results. Assist with year-end T4/T4A processing.
