Overview:
Our client is a growing Canadian logistics and freight forwarding organization with a strong North American presence and an expanding international forwarding operation. Their team is execution-focused, collaborative, and committed to delivering reliable freight solutions across air, ocean, and ground transportation. They are seeking a Senior Logistics Coordinator to take primary responsibility for international freight forwarding operations, while also providing support across North American LTL and FTL freight. This is a hands-on, senior individual contributor role suited to an experienced freight forwarder who is comfortable operating independently and managing shipments from start to finish. This position is not a people-management role and is not suitable for junior or developmental candidates.


What you will be doing:
International Freight (Primary Focus)

  • Quote and manage international shipments including FCL, LCL, and air freight (import & export)

  • Book freight with ocean carriers, airlines, and overseas agents

  • Manage international shipping documentation and compliance requirements

  • Coordinate customs clearance, inland transportation, and warehousing

  • Monitor shipments, manage exceptions, and resolve delays

  • Maintain strong relationships with international agents and carriers

  • Provide accurate shipment visibility and clear customer communication

North American Freight (Secondary Support)

  • Support quoting and execution for LTL and FTL shipments across Canada and the United States

  • Assist with booking and coordination as required

  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure pricing and execution accuracy


What you must have:

  • 3–5+ years of freight forwarding experience

  • Direct, hands-on international forwarding experience (air & ocean, import & export)

  • Proven ability to manage shipments end-to-end without supervision

  • Strong working knowledge of:

    • Incoterms

    • International freight documentation

    • Carrier and overseas agent networks

  • Experience quoting and booking North American LTL and FTL

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and operationally strong

  • Comfortable operating as the sole international forwarding specialist
