Payroll Specialist

Base Salary Range: $65000 - $75000

What you will be doing:

• Bi-weekly hourly, and salaried payrolls, using Ceridian Powerpay

• Input new hires, terminations, rate changes, garnishments, and other data relating to employee records and payroll processing.

• Collaborate with work sites to ensure accurate and timely entry to timesheets and resolve time entry issues; assist with Time Entry as required.

• Process employee termination documents in an appropriate manner to meet legislative timelines, calculates final pay and cancels benefits when required.

• Payroll accounts reconciliation on quarterly and annual basis (including T4)

• Answer internal and external payroll inquiries

• Administer employee benefits programs (extended health benefits, RRSP)

• Prepare Journal entries related to payroll in accounting system

• Once a month make payments to vendors by credit card over the phone

• File and organize vendors invoices and statements

• Identify and implement improvements to the department with the assistance of the Systems & Implementation Manager

What you must have:

• 5+ years in payroll administration experience, preferably in a construction

• Successful completion of Canadian Payroll Association PCP certification is an asset

• Experience working with time and attendance systems, Ceridian Powerpay preferred

• Intermediate experience with Office 365 more specifically Microsoft Excel

• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written

• Excellent organization skills

• Experience with Implementing payroll department structure and systems

Salary/Rate Range: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00
