Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Sales Manager to lead equipment sales strategy, team development, and territory performance in Calgary. This leadership role is responsible for driving revenue growth and profitability by building strong customer relationships, managing key accounts, and identifying new market opportunities. What you will be doing:
Sales Strategy & Leadership

  • Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies, including quotas, budgets, and forecasts to maximize gross margin and market share.

  • Create and implement quarterly and annual sales plans for territory sales managers and sales staff.

  • Collaborate with Marketing and executive leadership to align sales plans, product launches, budgets, and long-term strategic initiatives.

  • Conduct feasibility studies and develop business plans for new products or services, including distribution strategies and reseller agreements.

  • Lead, coach, and develop sales personnel, including Territory Managers, Rental Manager, and support staff.

  • Partner with Branch leadership and HR to recruit, hire, and onboard new sales team members.

  • Facilitate regular sales meetings, reporting activities, and performance reviews.

  • Drive performance management initiatives that support employee growth and accountability.

Customer & Market Development

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, retail and wholesale partners, and internal departments such as Parts and Service.

  • Identify and pursue new market segments and growth opportunities by staying informed on industry trends and competitive activity.

  • Strengthen key partnerships and develop new business accounts to achieve volume and market share targets.

  • Provide strategic input on competitive analysis, market trends, and overall business environment.

  • Support initiatives that gather client feedback and enhance customer service excellence.

Operations & Reporting

  • Support the sales team with technical and commercial presentations and proposals.

  • Manage inventory mix and asset performance, including new and used inventory turn and aging.

  • Assist in overseeing branch account receivables in coordination with Credit and Operations teams.

  • Analyze pricing effectiveness and market conditions to improve sales performance.

  • Represent the organization at industry trade shows, conventions, and professional associations.


What you must have:

  • 7+ years of direct sales experience or 3–5 years in a sales management role.

  • Proven ability to build and maintain long-term business relationships.

  • Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning.

  • High level of analytical thinking and sound decision-making skills.

  • Industry experience within equipment, construction, forestry, or related sectors is considered an asset.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field preferred.

  • Willingness to travel as required.


Salary/Rate Range: $95,000.00 - $100,000.00
