Overview:
Our client is seeking an experienced Service Manager to lead the service operations at a busy heavy truck and trailer dealership in Mississauga. This role is responsible for managing the delivery of aftermarket support services including diagnostics, repair, and component replacement for heavy-duty trucks and trailers. The Service Manager oversees all aspects of the service department and provides leadership to foremen, lead hands, service writers, and shop, field, and resident technicians while ensuring efficient workflow, strong customer service, and profitable operations.
What you will be doing:

Manage daily service department workflow and scheduling

Oversee the performance and productivity of foremen, lead hands, service writers, and technicians

Ensure company policies, reporting practices, and operational standards are followed

Develop and manage the service department budget to meet operational and financial goals

Prepare quotes for customer work orders and oversee the opening and closing of work orders

Inspect and operate customer equipment as part of troubleshooting and diagnostics when required

Monitor monthly service revenue and expenses and adjust operations to maintain profitability

Ensure all work is completed according to safety regulations and industry standards

Conduct ongoing performance reviews and coaching to support employee development

Maintain strong relationships with customers by ensuring high-quality service and timely communication
What you must have:

Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to interact professionally with customers, employees, and management

Self-motivated with a willingness to continuously learn and share knowledge with others

Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities

Comfortable working around and occasionally operating heavy equipment
-
Proficiency with desktop applications and web-based productivity tools

Ability to travel to customer worksites when required

Valid driver’s license and ability to provide a recent driver’s abstract

Strong commitment to occupational health and safety

5–7 years of progressive experience in service operations, management, and business within the heavy truck or equipment industry

Journeyperson Truck and Coach Technician certification considered a strong asset

Minimum 3 years of supervisory or management experience in a truck or heavy equipment service environment

Solid understanding of heavy-duty equipment dealership operations

Proven ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple priorities, and achieve operational objectives

Strong customer service mindset with sound judgment when addressing customer concerns
Salary/Rate Range: $95,000.00 - $100,000.00
