Overview:
Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, the Manager, Finance Business Partner (FBP) is a strategic leader within the Finance Business Partnering function, responsible for delivering high-quality management reporting, financial analysis, and strategic decision support. The role oversees financial planning for assigned corporate functions and produces clear, data-driven insights that inform executive decision-making.
This position is accountable for developing standardized performance reporting, preparing executive-level presentations, and providing timely, relevant financial analysis. The Manager works closely with the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and Senior Management Team (SMT) to ensure alignment with strategic priorities. They partner with leaders across multiple corporate functions to guide financial planning, optimize costs, and advance key strategic priorities. Valuable internal partnerships include Corporate FP&A, Corporate Controllers, Tax, and other Finance Business Partners. The Manager also leads and supports the work of leads and analysts dedicated to the corporate functions under their responsibility.
What you will be doing:

Support the Senior Manager with influencing decision-making related to strategic, financial, and operational objectives, growth opportunities, special projects and value chain trade-offs through the provision of business intelligence from corporate planning.

Develop and drive consistency and standardization of financial planning and analysis standard processes throughout the organization

Leads the coordination and delivery of quality outputs for Budget and Forecast

Handles and communicates timelines and schedule for corporate budget presentations

Responsible for the preparation of quarterly forecast reports for corporate functions including analysis of key changes in forecasts and assumptions as well as analysis of financial performance versus plan.

Focuses on continuous improvements of the forecast process to achieve improved accuracy and timeliness of reporting.

Reviews corporate forecasts submitted by operations for accuracy and reasonableness.

Identifies and communicates risks in the forecast proactively for senior management

Responsible for accurate and timely ELT and board-level memos and presentations of the corporate functions’ performance on a monthly and quarterly basis.

Responsible for ad-hoc support to executive suite on issues as required.

Uncover and champion continuous improvement opportunities including automating reporting, supporting operating sites, and benchmarking.
What you must have:

Degree in Business, Finance or a related field

Professional designation related to finance (e.g. Chartered Financial Analyst, Chartered Professional Accountant, or Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst) will be considered an asset

8+ years of relevant work experience demonstrating increasing responsibility in a similar or transferrable field

Expertise in developing and interpreting financial models with a deep understanding of business drivers and relevant outputs required to promote decision-making.

Experience leading a team and supporting the development of others.

Authority on analytical methods and concepts in finance with proficiency applying economic, accounting, financial and investment principles to the solution of corporate business problems.

Extensive relationship-building skills and the ability to work with personnel at all levels of seniority from other functional areas.

Self-starter who can prioritize amongst multiple projects at once and work with limited guidance.

Student of the industry – possess or develop the background and expertise to contribute to commodity and industry specific analysis both regionally and globally.

Validated competencies in critical thinking and analytical skills

Well-developed written and verbal communication skills as well as strong interpersonal and presentation skills
Salary/Rate Range: CAD $135,000 - $167,000 per year
