Sterile Processing Technician Manager
Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Sterile Processing Technician Manager! In this critical role, you will oversee the reprocessing of reusable medical instruments, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and compliance across the facility. You will play a key role in supporting surgical teams by maintaining the integrity and availability of sterile supplies and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support sterile processing operations, including cleaning, decontamination, sterilization, and storage of medical and surgical instruments
- Prepare, assemble, and distribute surgical instruments, case carts, and equipment based on physician preference and procedural needs
- Ensure strict adherence to infection control protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
- Monitor and document sterilization processes, including physical, chemical, and biological indicators
- Oversee inventory management, including receiving, stocking, and tracking of supplies
- Maintain sterile processing areas to ensure organization, cleanliness, and efficiency
- Collaborate with surgical and clinical teams to support patient care and operational flow
- Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe handling of all materials and equipment
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and support benchmarking efforts
- Maintain confidentiality of patient and organizational information
- Support hospital mission, values, and compliance with accreditation standards
Qualifications:
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Completion of a Sterile Processing Technician Program preferred
Certifications (Preferred):
- Sterile Processing Technician Certification
Experience:
- Previous sterile processing experience preferred
