Overview:
Our client, a well-established and growing general contractor, is seeking an experienced Estimator to join their Pre-Construction team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with a background in ICI estimating who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working closely with operations and project teams.

 


What you will be doing:
Estimating & Costing

  • Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates for ICI construction projects

  • Analyze drawings, specifications, and tender documents to develop accurate pricing

  • Develop estimates for labour, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and general conditions

Bid Management

  • Manage the full tendering process including subcontractor solicitation, bid leveling, and closing procedures

  • Review and analyze subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure full scope coverage

Cost Analysis & Strategy

  • Utilize historical data, market trends, and current pricing to improve estimate accuracy

  • Identify risks, opportunities, and cost-saving strategies to enhance bid competitiveness

Collaboration

  • Work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, and Operations teams on project planning and budgeting

  • Support pre-construction activities including scope development and cost planning

Project Support

  • Assist with change orders, cost updates, and project handover documentation

  • Participate in estimate reviews, tender closings, and project debriefs



What you must have:

  • Minimum 3+ years of estimating experience within ICI construction (required)

  • Strong experience preparing estimates across commercial, institutional, and/or industrial projects

  • Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is an asset

  • Proficiency with Primavera P6 and/or MS Project

  • Experience with Bluebeam, CAD, and digital takeoff software is considered an asset

  • Strong understanding of construction methods, scheduling, and project sequencing

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams

  • Valid driver’s license


Salary/Rate Range: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00
