Overview:
We are looking for a Senior Application Architect to play a key leadership role in a major public sector digital modernization project. This is an excellent opportunity to work on the transformation of legacy systems into a modern, scalable, cloud-enabled enterprise platform. This fully remote contract offers flexibility while delivering meaningful impact on critical government services.

What you will be doing:

• Design and define application architectures and technical strategies for web-based enterprise solutions.

• Evaluate custom development versus commercial and SaaS options, providing clear recommendations.

• Develop integration strategies between legacy systems, new platforms, and external applications.

• Create architectural models, standards, and documentation to support long-term maintainability.

• Assess technical impacts and risks during the modernization of large, aging systems.

• Ensure solutions meet security, performance, and compliance requirements in a regulated environment.

• Collaborate on options analysis and roadmap planning for the overall transformation.

What you must have:

• 7+ years of experience as an Application Architect or Solution Architect.

• 5+ years of practical experience leading cloud or SaaS implementations.

Nice to have:

• Previous work with registry, compliance, or regulated systems.

• Integration with financial or ERP platforms.

• Identity management and authentication technologies (e.g., SAML).

• Large-scale legacy system modernization projects.

• Experience working in government or other highly regulated industries.
