Job Overview
We are seeking qualified Nurse Practitioners to perform Compensation & Pension (C&P) exams and Separation Health Assessments for our nation’s Veterans. In this role, you will conduct one-time, non-treatment evaluations to help Veterans receive the benefits they deserve.
This is a flexible, ongoing PRN/Per Diem opportunity. You can choose to perform exams at a designated facility or schedule Veterans within your own existing practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform one-time, non-treatment C&P examinations and separation health assessments.
- Conduct interview-based exams with physical assessments, including range of motion and muscle strength testing.
- Complete and submit standardized Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) within 48 hours of the exam.
- Review medical records and provide administrative follow-up, such as medical opinions or addendums, as required.
- Utilize a goniometer and demonstrate proficiency in evaluating musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, and neurological conditions.
- Active Nurse Practitioner license.
- Background in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Orthopedic Surgery, or general medicine.
- Experience with Compensation and Pension exams is highly preferred but not required.
- Proficiency in diagnosing respiratory, cardiovascular, and neurological conditions (including METs testing).
- Must have a personal laptop (PC-based; Mac is not compatible with reporting software).
- Ability to complete required DMA certification and orientation training prior to starting.
- Location: Western United States
- Flexible Hours: Options for half-day (4-hour) or full-day (8-hour) shifts.
- Frequency: Ongoing need for approximately one day per week.
- No Treatment: This role is strictly for evaluations; there is no prescribing or ongoing patient care involved.
