Overview:
The Aviation Welder II performs skilled welding, fabrication, and repair work on aircraft structures, aircraft components, and related parts in accordance with FAA regulations, OEM specifications, and company quality standards. This role requires demonstrated proficiency in multiple welding processes, the ability to work independently on routine and complex assignments, and flexibility to support field work, including domestic and international travel as needed. The Level II Welder is expected to consistently produce high-quality work, maintain required certifications, and support continuous improvement initiatives while collaborating effectively in a team environment.


What you will be doing:

  • Perform cleaning, preparation, masking, brazing, stress relief, and welding on aircraft parts, components, and raw materials.
  • Execute welds on new and repaired parts using GMAW, GTAW, oxy-acetylene, and other approved welding processes based on qualifications and certifications.
  • Read and interpret technical manuals, engineering drawings, specifications, and repair documentation to complete work accurately.
  • Document all work performed in accordance with company, customer, and regulatory requirements.
  • Fabricate and assemble manufactured parts and assist in building tooling and fixtures as needed.
  • Maintain compliance with company quality manuals, standard operating procedures, and FAA regulations.
  • Achieve and maintain required welding certifications and task qualifications.
  • Order and manage welding materials and supplies in accordance with company procedures.
  • Participate in Lean initiatives, standard work practices, and continuous process improvement efforts.
  • Mentor and support less experienced team members when qualified.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  • Work safely with hazardous and non-hazardous chemicals and materials.
  • Travel domestically and internationally, including to remote locations, to support on-aircraft welding operations as required.

What you must have:
  • 2–4 years of welding, fabrication, or related experience (aviation preferred).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain certification to current welding standards across multiple material types.
  • Experience with aircraft or turbine engine component welding preferred.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as business needs require.

What you must have:
  • Two-year vocational or technical welding degree.
  • Experience in aerospace manufacturing, repair, or MRO environments.
  • Familiarity with FAA and aerospace quality standards.
