Overview:
We are seeking an experienced physician leader for a Medical Director – Pediatrics opportunity with a nationally recognized healthcare organization. This position is responsible for providing clinical leadership, quality oversight, medical policy guidance, provider engagement, peer review activities, and strategic support for pediatric healthcare services. The Medical Director will collaborate with clinical and operational leaders to ensure the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based, and cost-effective care across a large healthcare network. This role is ideal for a board-certified pediatric physician with strong leadership experience and a passion for quality improvement, clinical excellence, and healthcare transformation.


What you will be doing:

  • Provide clinical leadership and oversight for pediatric healthcare services

  • Conduct peer review, quality reviews, and medical necessity evaluations

  • Support development and implementation of clinical policies, procedures, and guidelines

  • Partner with operational and clinical leadership to improve provider performance and quality outcomes

  • Participate in utilization management and clinical governance activities

  • Monitor and evaluate key performance indicators (KPIs) and quality metrics

  • Support accreditation, regulatory compliance, and quality improvement initiatives

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to enhance patient and provider experience

  • Provide clinical consultation and physician leadership across multiple business units

  • Participate in strategic planning and organizational initiatives


What you must have:

  • MD or DO

  • Board Certified in Pediatrics

  • Active unrestricted medical license

  • Minimum 10 years of clinical physician experience

  • Minimum 5 years of physician leadership experience

  • Experience as a Medical Director, Associate Medical Director, Chief Medical Officer, Department Chair, Service Line Director, or similar leadership role

  • Experience with peer review, quality improvement, clinical governance, and provider performance management

  • Strong communication, leadership, and collaboration skills


Nice to have:

  • Health plan or managed care experience

  • Utilization Management experience

  • Medical Necessity Review experience

  • Credentialing and provider oversight experience

  • Quality Improvement and Performance Improvement experience

  • NCQA, HEDIS, Joint Commission, URAC, or accreditation experience

  • Population Health experience

  • Value-Based Care experience

  • Experience leading multidisciplinary clinical teams

What We're Looking For

Salary/Rate Range: $140.00 – $145.00 per hour

Other Information:

  • Full-time, 40 hours per week
