Overview: 
Our client in Illinois is seeking a talented Internal Medicine Hospitalist locum tenens. You’ll be doing admits and rounding in a Level I Trauma Center.


What you will be doing:

• 10 and 14 hour shifts are available, TBD based on facility need

• 100% in-patient

• No Call

• Working with 55 Physicians and Support staff:

  • 1 Clinical Nurse Specialist

  • Associate Medical Director

  • Assistant Medical Director

  • Support staff includes the ICU team, with the hospitalists covering calls (but ICU physician has to be on back-up)

  • Ancillary staff includes child life, pastoral services, nutrition, social services PT/OT and speech therapy.

• Most of the patients are medical.  The surgical cases usually are initiated by the PICU physicians or else they are elective.

• Pediatric Sedation Service in place (sedations for special procedures, minor procedures, and radiology procedures.

• Hospitalists cover all of the sedations and pediatric ICU physicians do sedations that are ASA III.

• The ICU manages mechanical ventilation, HFOV and inhaled nitric oxide.  Trauma patients (>14 years of age), post-op patients (general surgery, ortho, spine, ENT, etc.). 

What you must have:

• MD or DO

• Board Certified in Pediatrics or Internal Medicine and Pediatrics

• ACLS

• BLS

• Current Illinois license or IMLC certificate in-hand

Other requirements:

• Must be able to pass drug screening and Executive Physical

• Must provide immunization documentation and go through full immunization review on orientation day
  Critical Dates needed:

  12/14 night shift

  12/27-12/28 day shift

  12/29-12/30 night shift

  1/2-1/4 day shift

  1/4 night shift ... More dates to follow through 2025
