Overview:
The Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs examinations, on pre-mature neo-natal, neo-natal, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients; administers radioactive material to patients for diagnostic, exams and therapies; utilizes effective radiation safety practices; maintains record keeping in accordance with governing agencies; works closely with other staff to maximize efficiency and productivity.


What you will be doing:

• Administers radiopharmaceuticals or radiation to patientsto detect or treat diseases, using radioisotope equipment,under direction of provider;

• Explains the procedures to the patient, answers the patient’s questions, and obtains the patient’s consent

• Injects (doses) patients with radioactive material.

• Places radiopharmaceutical orders after reviewingprovider’s orders; obtains and documents pertinent topatient history; calculates, measures and recordsradiation dosage or radiopharmaceuticals received.

• Determines the correct procedure for the study ordered.

What you must have:

• Associates Degree

• 2 years of experience

Certifications

• BLS/AHA

• Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT)

• ARRT American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
