Overview:
Our client is seeking an experienced Sales Engineer to join their team in West Chicago. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of technical sales experience, preferably with a background in industrial or commercial steam boiler/HVAC sales, or mechanical/electrical/chemical sales. This role involves managing extended sales cycles, pursuing and following up on leads, and requires familiarity with governmental emissions regulations. Participation in trade shows and conferences is also a key component of this role. The position involves regular travel within Northern Illinois and surrounding areas, with up to 25% of the time spent on the road.

  • Sales Territory: Greater Chicago Area


What you will be doing:

  • Lead development

  • Building and maintaining customer relations

  • Writing proposals 

  • Closing sales deals

  • Providing consultative sales expertise


What you must have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Business

  • 5+ years of technical experience in the industrial field

  • Proven success in presenting information to various audiences

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Proficiency in MS Word and Excel

  • Ability to multi-task effectively

  • Basic understanding of thermodynamics

  • General knowledge of commercial steam systems
