Overview:
Our client is seeking a Business Consultant who will play a crucial role in supporting the successful implementation of Workday across their organization, with specific focus on the Finance module. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Finance and extensive experience in ERP module implementation, business process analysis, requirements gathering, and supporting QA processes. This position requires strong analytical skills, the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams, and exceptional communication capabilities. This is an initial 10-12 month engagement with the potential of a 1-year extension.


What you will be doing:

  • Drafting comprehensive functional, non-functional, and technical specifications.

  • Engaging in data cleansing, mapping, and migration efforts.

  • Assisting in the Quality Assurance (QA) process by creating test cases, test data, and test scripts, and actively participate in multiple testing cycles.

  • Developing and delivering knowledge transfer sessions and documentation for operations teams.

  • Creating and presenting training materials through various modalities as outlined in the training plan.

  • Cultivating strong working relationships with project team members, stakeholders, and vendors.

  • Facilitating and contributing to clear and effective project communications.

  • Executing project tasks according to the project schedule/backlog, identifying conflicts, delays, and dependencies for escalation.

  • Ensuring compliance with the project Governance Plan and escalate risks and issues to the Project Manager as needed.

  • Organizing and documenting discovery workshops to capture current state business processes.

  • Leading and documenting workshops to design future state business processes.

  • Utilizing Business Process Modelling Notation (BPMN) and process narratives to document business processes, including business rules, constraints, actors, and opportunities.

  • Preparing all project documentation according to established standards, tools, and templates.

  • Collaborating with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to capture and analyze business requirements using structured processes.

  • Partnering with project team members to design, develop, and deliver solutions by creating user stories, use cases, and conducting hands-on business process validation activities.

  • Developing and documenting use cases, user stories, and business process validation techniques.


What you must have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience in a related field.

  • CBAP or PMI-PBA certification preferred.

  • Experience within the BC Post-Secondary Sector is highly preferred.

  • Proven experience working on ERP implementation projects, particularly Workday, is considered a strong asset.

  • Strong understanding of finance, including:

    • Financial Accounting & Budgets

    • Supplier Accounts

    • Banking & Settlement

    • Customer Accounts & Contracts

    • Grants Accounting

    • Endowment Accounting

    • Business Assets

    • Procurement

  • Familiarity with hybrid project work allocation and management.

  • Strong analytical, forward-thinking, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholder groups.

  • Ability to coordinate, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks effectively.

  • Proficient in MS Office applications, including Microsoft Visio.

  • Experience in digital transformation projects is highly desirable.
