What you will be doing:

Design of deep foundation (drilled shafts, CFA piles, micropiles), ground improvement, and retaining wall systems (CIP, MSE, Segmental Gravity, Soldier Pile and Lagging, Soil Nail, etc.)

Formulation of design basis methodology and performance of hand/software calculations

Develop/maintain existing design clients through interpersonal relationships and with assistance from other senior staff.

Manage projects from proposal preparation to final closeout

Mentor/Assign design tasks to EIT design engineers

Interact with CAD staff on design details and plan notes

Communicate results of engineering analysis, calculations, plans, and recommendations to clients

Other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions

In addition to an office setting the candidate may be exposed to outside weather conditions such as wet and/or humid environments, extreme cold and/or heat, dusty and noisy work environments.

Some travel may be required.
What you must have:
-
Bachelor's degree (B.S.) ABET or an accredited four-year college or university in civil engineering or related field.

Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or ability to obtain within 1 year of employment.

Familiarity with modern office tools including the use of computer-based programs Microsoft Office, Excel, etc. Any experience such as Settle, SLIDE, AutoCAD, LPILE, GROUP

Possession of a valid Tennessee driver license and an acceptable driving record

Experience with geotechnical design or specialty geotechnical construction (deep foundations, retaining walls, etc).
Nice to have:

Master’s level degree or exposure to core civil engineering disciplines through coursework (M.S. or Ph.D.) or work experience in geotechnical engineering
