Overview: 
Our client is seeking a Technical Writer to support a comprehensive digital transformation initiative. The role involves developing and maintaining high-quality documentation for a new data governance framework, integral to the successful implementation of an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in technical writing for data governance and large corporate environments, coupled with a strong ability to communicate complex information clearly and effectively. This is an initial 3-month engagement with potential for extension and requires a hybrid work environment, with a combination of on-site and remote work arrangements. The writer will be required to work on-site as needed, while also having the flexibility to work remotely.


What you will be doing:
Documentation of Data Governance Strategy??????

  • Developing comprehensive documentation detailing the data governance strategy, policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Ensuring alignment with relevant cybersecurity, privacy, and industry standards.
Data Governance Policies and Procedures
  • Documenting policies and procedures for data management, quality, security, and compliance.
  • Outlining roles and responsibilities within the data governance framework.
Data Architecture and Integration Documentation
  • Collaborating with the Enterprise Architect and Data Integration Consultant to document data architecture and integration strategies.
  • Ensuring consistency across all documentation.
Compliance and Regulatory Documentation
  • Researching and documenting compliance requirements, including internal policies and external regulatory standards.
  • Keeping documentation current and reflective of regulatory changes.
Training and Knowledge Transfer Materials
  • Developing training materials, user guides, and knowledge transfer documents.
  • Facilitating knowledge transfer sessions, documenting key takeaways.
Collaboration and Communication
  • Working closely with the Enterprise Architect, Data Integration Specialist, and other project team members to ensure cohesive documentation.
  • Coordinating with stakeholders for feedback to ensure documentation meets their needs.
Reporting and Status Updates
  • Providing regular updates on documentation progress to the Integration Project Manager and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Reporting any challenges encountered during the documentation process.
Deliverables
  • Data Governance Strategy Document: Comprehensive strategy document detailing policies and procedures.
  • Data Governance Policies and Procedures Manual: Detailed manuals on data management, quality, security, and compliance.
  • Data Architecture and Integration Documentation: Documentation of data architecture and integration strategies, including diagrams and technical specifications.
  • Compliance and Regulatory Documentation: Comprehensive compliance and regulatory standards documentation.
  • Training and Knowledge Transfer Materials: User guides, training materials, and knowledge transfer documents.
  • Status Reports: Regular updates on documentation progress.

What you must have:
  • Proven experience in technical writing, specifically within data governance and large corporate environments.
  • Strong knowledge of data governance principles, policies, and procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with documentation tools and version control systems.
