Overview:
We are seeking an Occupational Health & Safety Advisor to help cultivate a safe and healthy work environment. This role is key in promoting a strong safety culture and ensuring that all employees understand that accidents and injuries are preventable. This role offers an opportunity to make a significant impact on workplace safety while working with a collaborative team.


What you will be doing:

• Champion a safety-first culture and provide guidance on safe work practices.

• Coach, mentor, and train employees on safety protocols.

• Conduct safety inspections, audits, and prepare regular reports.

• Develop and update safety procedures, manuals, and policies.

• Lead safety meetings and manage safety awareness campaigns.

• Investigate incidents, analyze causes, and recommend preventative actions.

• Support the development of a Rail Safety Training Program.

• Ensure compliance with safety certifications and maintain safety documentation.

• Obtain and maintain an Advanced Occupational First Aid (OFA) certificate.

Who you must be/ What you must have:

• Strong communicator, comfortable leading meetings and working with diverse teams.

• Able to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects.

• Technologically savvy and detail-oriented.

• Self-motivated and able to work independently.

• Valid BC Class 5 driver’s license.

• CSO certification.

• Health & Safety experience.

• Knowledge of Return-to-Work programs and regulations.

• Experience in safety management systems and incident analysis.

Nice to have:

• Certification (or in progress) as a CRSP or CSP.

• Knowledge of fleet and driver safety programs.

• Leadership and training experience.

Salary/Rate Range: $60,000 - $80,000
