Overview:
Our client is seeking to engage a qualified contractor or consultant to assume project leadership responsibilities, overseeing the effective planning and delivery of several facilities projects. Reporting to the Director, Real Estate Facilities & Procurement at our client's organization, the successful proponent will be expected to integrate with a small team of PMs and partner with the Manager, Planning & Design, working primarily from our client's Head Office, with occasional local travel to various branches as needed.
What you will be doing:
The successful proponent will provide project management oversight and leadership to 3-4 major capital projects, each with a budget exceeding $1M, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with organizational expectations. The following is a list of duties for which the proponent would be responsible on these projects:

Executive communications – facilitating meetings and writing reports to escalate decisions and provide updates to internal leaders. Involves understanding project governance and distilling information to tailor the presentation to each audience.

Vendor scope oversight – ensuring vendor expectations are clear and they are held accountable to their commitments.

Project team scope oversight – partnering with Operations, Marketing, IT, and others to ensure other parties’ deliverables and activities are planned with clearly assigned responsibilities. Meet regularly to ensure accountabilities are delivered.

Oversight of assigned PMs – quality assurance over project deliverables and communications. Review and support project planning and approach.

Project cost/benefit – explain the value of project investments through operational and financial lenses, comparing the ROI of alternative solutions.

PM standard improvements – continuously refine project management templates and workflows to align standards toward best practices and practical delivery.
What you must have:
The individual is expected to have experience collaborating with senior leadership to garner alignment and drive decisions on project direction. Other preferred qualifications:

10+ years of experience delivering construction and facilities projects in a complex organization.

Undergraduate or master’s degree in business, engineering, or architecture. Professional designation is preferred.

Project Management Professional (PMP) designation.

Experience with construction project procurement and contracts, specifically CCDC contracts.
