Overview:
Reporting directly to the Commercial Operations Director, the Federal Audit Manager is responsible for ensuring our client's financial operations meet all necessary government requirements, while also driving the company's financial strategy and growth.  


What you will be doing:

  • Develop and implement financial compliance strategies and policies in accordance with government regulations, ensuring the company's continued success in the industry

  • Oversee and manage all financial reporting and documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with government requirements

  • Monitor and analyze changes in government regulations and communicate any potential impact to senior leadership

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance is integrated into all financial processes and systems

  • Conduct regular audits and reviews of financial operations to identify potential compliance issues and implement corrective actions as needed

  • Serve as the main point of contact for government agencies regarding financial compliance matters

  • Train and educate employees on government compliance requirements and best practices to ensure a culture of compliance throughout the organization

  • Partner with internal and external auditors to ensure timely completion of audits and address any findings or recommendations

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to promote a positive reputation for the company's financial compliance practices

  • Provide leadership and guidance to a team of finance professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture


What you must have:

  • 10+ years of experience in finance or accounting roles, with a focus on government accounting compliance

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field

  • Master’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field preferred

  • Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM) preferred

  • Strong knowledge of government accounting regulations, including FAR, CAS and USG contracts

  • Experience managing financial operations related to government contracts

  • Excellent leadership and team management and development skills

  • Executive presence and the ability to effectively communicate with and influence senior

  • Strategic mindset with the ability to provide financial insights and recommendations to senior level executives

  • Strong attention to detail, analytical skills and business acumen

  • Proficient with MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint

  • Experience with complex models and variance analysis

  • Excellent Communications skills (both oral and written)
