Backend Developer

Base Salary Range: $100000 - $140000

Job Title: Backend Developer - TypeScript, Node.js, AWS

Location: Remote. You must be based in the Vancouver area. The team meets 1-2 times a month in Vancouver, BC.

What you will be doing:

• Develop and maintain platform components that enable core product features.

• Build a performant, secure, and extensible backend architecture.

• Uphold best practices in engineering, security, and system design.

• Engage in code reviews to ensure high-quality engineering standards.

• Write and maintain unit and integration tests to ensure system reliability.

What you must have:

• 5+ years of experience in enterprise-level backend development with a focus on API applications.

• Strong proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript.

• Experience building scalable applications in a cloud environment (AWS Lambda experience is highly preferred).

• Deep understanding of relational databases and SQL proficiency.

• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a fast- paced startup environment. 

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation. 

• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

Nice to have:

• Experience with Terraform.

• Familiarity with TypeScript, React, and CSS.

• Experience integrating third-party SaaS APIs.

Salary/Rate Range: $100,000 - $140,000
