Overview:
Power Acquisitions requires communications and engagement support to advance various high priority initiatives. The role would work with an existing relationship manager to complete tasks such as writing, processing mail list registrations, supporting logistics for engagement events, etc. The Communication Coordinator performs communication activities for project communications, change management, and stakeholder engagement to deliver actionable information to a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.

 

What you will be doing:

  • Experience in supporting communications and event management processes 

  • Assist in the planning, development, and implementation of communications products and programs or planning events designed for specific and targeted employee, public and customer audiences. 

  • Research and analyze audience needs and requirements and plan communications programs to meet objectives. 

  • Collaborate with stakeholder partners and support the company's internal public involvement teams. 

  • Compose, write, and edit communication materials including newsletters, management reports, and presentations by using excellent skills in communication, planning, and implementation as well as good knowledge of project management principles to support assigned business groups at the company. 

  • Coordinate and support tracking tools and create progress reports for formal programs and projects by using intermediate skills in MS Office and document management systems such as SharePoint so that assigned projects and initiatives are successfully implemented as planned. 

  • Contribute to the development of communication plans by using consultative methodologies and techniques including online platforms to accurately determine communication needs of the assigned project or initiative. 

  • Collaborate with small and large business teams in the company’s complex organization by building strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders so that projects and strategic initiatives are completed safely, with quality, within budget, and on time.

 

What you must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Journalism, Business, Marketing or related field 

  • Intermediate MS Office skills (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) 

  • Advanced English skills for professional environment, written and spoken

  • Additional coursework in consultation, marketing or research delivered through IAP2, BCAMA, IABC or CPRS or other


Salary/Rate Range: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour


Term: 6-month contract; most likely to extend
