Overview:
A public-sector initiative is seeking a highly skilled Big Data Engineer / Data Scientist to support the implementation of a fraud analytics roadmap for a large healthcare-focused agency. This onsite role in Austin, TX offers the opportunity to design and manage data pipelines that directly power decision-making and fraud prevention strategies. Ideal candidates will bring extensive experience with large-scale data integration, Databricks on Azure, and advanced scripting in Python and SQL.


What you will be doing:

  • Designing and implementing scalable, high-performance data pipelines for analytics and reporting

  • Working hands-on with Python and SQL to support complex data integration efforts

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to align data engineering solutions with business goals

  • Leveraging tools like Databricks on Azure to manage large-scale distributed data workflows

  • Ensuring the reliability, maintainability, and efficiency of pipeline architecture

What you must have:

  • 10+ years of experience in building, managing, and optimizing scalable data pipelines

  • Strong proficiency in Python and SQL for data processing and transformation

  • Experience with Databricks (especially in Azure environments) preferred

  • Deep understanding of big data architecture, data quality best practices, and data lake environments

  • Ability to work onsite in Austin, TX and collaborate with diverse technical and business teams

  • Strong problem-solving mindset, adaptability, and attention to detail in a fast-paced setting
