What you will be doing:

• Run and review Pacer, Patriot/OFAC, Lexis/Nexis and DataTrace searches

• Review County GIS Overlay and Satellite Images of the insured property to determine if there are any issues that would require a survey

• Update title commitments as new information becomes available

• Review and approve the following documents: surveys, divorce decrees, trust agreements, probate proceedings, bankruptcies, death certificates, entity articles, and court dockets.

• Able to work in a startup environment and quickly adapt to frequent change, such as new search requirements and new market areas

• Proactive thinker who can see the big picture and who is resourceful and willing to take initiative and attempt to find a solution before escalating

• In performing the above responsibilities, the Title Examiner must adhere to performance metrics and turnaround times according to established service standards and key performance indicators, which metrics are closely monitored and reported on a weekly basis.

The ideal candidate will bring a passion for providing high-quality and timely service to internal and external customers and will thrive in a fast-paced, team-centric environment. Key attributes include:

• 4 years minimum of title examiner experience, working within a title operation

• 4 year college degree

• Search and Exam title experience at a national scale; deep expertise in Maryland, Virginia, DC, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, and/or New Jersey markets a plus

• High attention to detail

• A high proficiency working with various technologies and applications, specifically title production software, DataTrace, Pacer, Lexis/Nexis, Slack and other tools that support Search and Exam

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for consulting with Clearance, Search Vendors, Attorneys and Managers on technical title issues.

• Team player who maintains a positive attitude and supports teammate absences while managing multiple files of your own under tight deadlines within an ongoing pipeline
