What you will be doing:

  • Direct and manage the development and execution of the company's Data Governance Strategy, aligning with senior leadership’s business strategy

  • Own the data governance roadmap, prioritizing initiatives, continuous improvement efforts, and validating their impact

  • Develop a roadmap for ongoing improvement, using audits, feedback, and metrics to showcase effectiveness and value

  • Ensure the data governance strategy aligns with individual operating group business goals on an annual basis

  • Contribute to the evolution of the company's data maturity by providing insights and guidance on data governance initiatives

  • Embed data governance into practical business solutions, demonstrating how better data management solves business challenges

  • Manage the development and implementation of a comprehensive data governance framework that aligns with business objectives, not just compliance

  • Define clear data governance roles and responsibilities, establishing processes to foster ownership and accountability

  • Partner with cybersecurity to ensure data protection, and ensure compliance with regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, CCPA)

  • Promote a culture of governance as a business enabler by partnering with training specialists to educate users on data governance policies and best practices


What you must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in BSc, Computer Science, Data Science, Business, Economics or Similar

  • 10+ years in data governance, business intelligence, or data analysis

  • Proven ability to introduce and integrate governance through business-driven initiatives rather than just policy enforcement

  • Strong negotiation skills—able to uncover real business problems and demonstrate governance as a value-add

  • Experience leading and implementing data governance frameworks that are practical, actionable, and drive measurable impact

  • Ability to identify and execute quick-win data initiatives that showcase governance value

  • Experience structuring security, quality, and compliance measures within a data platform environment

  • Understanding of when to push for change vs. allowing teams to self-realize governance value

  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills, with a history of influencing senior executives and cross-functional teams

  • Expertise in data management tools (Collibra, metadata management, data cataloging, etc.)

  • Knowledge of database systems, data warehousing, and big data technologies

  • Familiarity with data protection regulations (GDPR, HIPAA, etc.)

  • Experience in project management and leading governance implementations


Salary/Rate Range: $156,000 - $180,000
