Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Sunrise Project Manager to lead and support upgrades of the Allscripts (Altera) Sunrise Clinical Manager (SCM) system across our client’s healthcare sites. This role requires deep expertise in managing complex clinical IT projects in acute care settings, with a strong focus on Sunrise upgrade and implementation projects. The successful candidate will bring a minimum of 10 years of relevant project management experience and demonstrated success delivering Sunrise upgrades, ideally including recent version 22.x or higher.
What you will be doing:

Lead and manage the full lifecycle of Sunrise upgrade projects across multiple client sites, ensuring alignment with clinical, operational, and technical goals.

Collaborate with clinical, IT, and operational stakeholders to assess current workflows, document requirements, and identify opportunities for optimization.

Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets; track progress and adjust as needed to meet milestones.

Facilitate coordination with vendor (Altera) resources and internal teams to manage dependencies and ensure quality delivery.

Oversee testing, training, change management, and go-live planning, ensuring readiness across all impacted departments.

Identify, log, and mitigate project risks, issues, and scope changes in a timely and transparent manner.

Communicate clearly and effectively with executive sponsors, clinical leadership, and end users.

Ensure all project documentation, governance, and compliance requirements are met.
What you must have:

Minimum 10 years of experience as a Project Manager leading healthcare IT initiatives.

Extensive experience with Allscripts (Altera) Sunrise Clinical Manager, including upgrade and implementation projects.

Demonstrated experience managing Sunrise 22.x or higher versions in a hospital or health system environment.

Proven ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams, including clinicians, analysts, and technical staff.

Strong knowledge of clinical workflows in surgical, inpatient, and ancillary departments.

Exceptional communication, organization, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Experience using project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, Jira).

Change management experience (e.g., PROSCI/ADKAR methodologies).

Familiarity with integration standards (HL7, FHIR), testing coordination, and training delivery in healthcare settings.
