Overview:
Our client in Winnipeg, MB is looking for a Quality Assurance (QA) Lead resources for a 6+ month contract to start with an extension, reference 219-0625. Candidates that can do hybrid locally are preferred but remote candidates located anywhere in Canada will be considered.
What you will be doing:
QA Department Structure

Assess current QA team structure and roles
-
Recommend optimized organizational design
-
Define skill requirements and role responsibilities
QA Strategy & Roadmap
-
Develop a short-term and long-term QA roadmap
-
Align QA objectives with ITS goals
-
Identify key milestones, KPIs, and success metrics
Process Improvement
-
Evaluate current QA processes (manual and automated)
-
Recommend and help implement process improvements
-
Support adoption of industry best practices
Tooling & Automation
-
Review existing QA tools and automation coverage
-
Recommend improvements or tool changes if needed
-
Help define automation strategies and priorities
Training & Knowledge Transfer
-
Provide coaching or mentoring to QA leads and team members
-
Document frameworks and procedures for future scalability
What you must have:
-
10+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership or consulting role
-
Proven experience designing and implementing QA strategies in multi-line business environments.
-
Hands-on experience setting up QA functions from the ground up in organizations with limited QA maturity.

Experience working with hybrid QA models involving QA teams, business testers, and development teams.

Prior involvement in supporting the buildout of in-house development teams and aligning QA accordingly.

Demonstrated ability to develop and execute QA roadmaps aligned with organization strategies.
Process & Methodology Skills
-
Strong understanding of QA methodologies (manual and automated), test lifecycle management, and risk-based testing
-
Experience implementing QA best practices in Agile, Scrum, and/or DevOps environments
-
Knowledge of CI/CD practices, release management, and QA's role in continuous delivery pipelines
-
Ability to establish and monitor QA metrics, KPIs, and dashboards
Tooling & Technical Skills:
-
Familiarity with modern QA tools for test management
-
Experience selecting and implementing QA tools based on organization needs and maturity
-
Understanding of automation frameworks and ability to assess automation ROI
Soft Skills & Leadership
-
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
-
Capable of mentoring and upskilling junior QA team members and business testers
-
Experience delivering QA strategy presentations to executive leadership
Additional Requirements

Experience in industries with regulatory or compliance requirements. Experience in public sector is an asset

Exposure to enterprise architecture or cross-functional systems integration
-
Familiarity with change management and organizational adoption of new QA practices

Must have Windows based computer with standard Windows applications.

Computer must be configured for MS Teams meetings and capable of connecting to MBLL’s Microsoft environment and applications such as SharePoint, Teams and OneDrive.

Must have own MS Visio license.

Must possess own communication device.
