Overview:
We are working with our client, a leading laboratory services provider to support them in the hiring of a key member of their east coast service team. The Senior Field Service Engineer is responsible for a broad range of tasks supporting laboratory equipment, with a focus on SCIEX LCMS systems. Key responsibilities include routine maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, coordination, and direct customer support. The role is full-time and may on occasion require weekend work to meet operational needs. Ideal location is DE (supporting a major client site here), but candidate can also be located in NJ, PA or MD.
What you will be doing:

Respond to and resolve equipment failures at customer sites

Provide direct technical phone support to customers

Collaborate with manager to escalate unresolved service calls beyond 8 hours

Assist in tracking service call metrics and preventive maintenance performance to ensure Quality System objectives are met

Read, interpret, and analyze component block diagrams, assembly drawings, and wiring diagrams

Conduct preventive maintenance (PM) inspections for warranty and service contract customers

Provide PMs for non-contracted customers as required

Coordinate and perform new product installations, operator training, and assay validation at customer sites

Deliver in-service training to customers when recurring issues arise

Document all customer interactions in compliance with Quality System requirements

Prioritize service requests and PM schedules effectively

Complete administrative tasks including expense reporting, parts ordering, and travel arrangements

Work independently and collaboratively as part of a team

Diagnose and resolve issues with complex analytical instrumentation

Manage timelines and coordinate resources efficiently

Utilize computer systems for service call reporting and documentation
-
Manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
-
Communicate cross-functionally with Sales, Quality, and leadership to meet Quality System goals

Willingness to travel overnight up to 15%
What you must have:

BS or Associate’s degree in Chemistry, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Engineering, Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or equivalent experience

Minimum of 8 years in an industrial or clinical lab setting performing instrumentation maintenance and repairs

Required experience with LC/MS, AB Sciex MS, and Shimadzu HPLC/UPLC systems

At least 2 years of training experience
