What you will be doing:

Work alongside engineering leadership to break down requirements into epics and stories, generate estimates, and adjust work based on predictable changes in rank-ordered priority from product management to enable us to launch new features rapidly

Retain and reinforce an amazing engineering development culture and process, leveraging a review and release framework that will expand your awareness

Deeply understand technical details of warehouse, customer support and the core ecommerce app, as well as related auth, account, payments, event management and notification services to be able to properly support your teams

Lead agile ceremonies, engineering go/no-go, and assist in requirements review and unblocking teams

This is a highly technical role; you must still have hands-on coding skill, and are expected to contribute code 50% of the time
What you must have:
-
Experience working in an agile development environment, using GitHub within a continuous integration environment to ship code frequently, ideally using modern build services such as CircleCI, Travis, Codeship

4+ years hands on (recent) coding experience developing enterprise level, consumer-facing web applications across the full development stack

Solid architectural skills with open source and AWS tooling; example technologies you should exposure to or awareness of includes RDS, redis, nginx

3+ years of professional experience working with Python and DJango

1+ years working at a software company (not consulting, not hardware, not finance) with a title of team lead or higher

1+ years experience leading other engineers technically to implement requirements from product management

Must be open to Eastern Standard Time (EST) work schedule

Strong git fu; able to handle three-way merges as well as knowledge of how to avoid them; stash, merge

Familiarity with Docker and site reliability engineering practices (RCA, daily rotation, PagerDuty/OpsGenie/Statuspage/Pingdom)

A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, or other related engineering field, or comparable industry experience within a software organization

Experience working across the org with stakeholders and product management

Very interested in learning new languages, platforms, and ideas
