Overview:
As a Senior Project Manager (PM), you will have overall responsibility for the successful planning and execution of defined segments of work within the project. This includes achieving our operational goals for Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in Safety, Quality, Schedule, and Cost. 


What you will be doing:

  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure all team members adhere to safety standards, regulations, and company policies through active leadership.

  • Quality Control: Oversee the quality of work produced by the team, ensuring it meets required standards and specifications.

  • Team Leadership; Lead and motivate the project team, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.

  • Schedule Development and Maintenance: Create and maintain project schedules for accurate reporting of progress and ensuring timely completion of all tasks.

  • Scope and Change Management: Manage project scope and handle any changes efficiently to keep the project on track and within authorized scope of services.

  • Performance Monitoring: Track the performance of team members, providing feedback and support to ensure high standards are maintained.

  • Budget Management: Oversee project budgets, ensuring financial targets are met and costs are controlled.

  • Organizational Management: Establish and allocate adequate resources to perform the work effectively. Evaluate the performance of resources and provide feedback to improve their skills and productivity.

  • Coordination of Work Groups: Ensure seamless coordination among various work groups, including construction, safety, engineering, training, procurement, tooling, contracts management, project controls, Subcontractors and key client stakeholders.

  • Training and Development: Identify training needs and opportunities for team members to enhance their skills and performance.

  • Client Relations; Ensure Client Stakeholder satisfaction and cultivate strong effective relationships through open, timely, clear, transparent and collaborative communication on developing concerns, resolution of issues and progress of the work.

  • Proposal Development: Following the Aecon policies and processes, review client request for proposals and generate work execution plans and written proposals as required.


What you must have:

  • Applicant must be a United States Citizen and be capable of obtaining a DOD or DOE security clearance.

  • Post secondary education with a degree in Engineering, Construction Management or Equivalent.

  • Minimum 15 years project management experience with 2-3 years of experience in Nuclear or Federal Government construction projects.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification considered a plus.

  • OSHA 30 or Safety Trained Supervisor Qualifications/Certification preferred.

  • Management experience in Design/Build or Engineering, Procurement and Construction Projects.

  • Applied knowledge of Construction project work, financial operations, project controls methods/standards.

  • Strong interpersonal skills that build effective relations with union leaders, craft personnel and project supervision, field engineer/work planners, support staff and operational leaders.

  • Exceptional analytical and organizational skills.

  • Proficient computer skills (typical MS suite programs).

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Strong knowledge of civil/mechanical construction methods.

  • Effective problem solving and negotiation skills.
