Overview:
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Test Lead to join their fast-paced, innovative R&D environment. This role requires strong expertise in testing methodologies, API testing, test automation, and ERP interface testing, particularly in SAP S/4HANA and related pharma systems. The successful candidate will be an expert in test management tools (e.g., Jira or equivalent), ensuring high-quality documentation and full traceability across multiple projects.

 

What you will be doing:
Test Strategy & Planning
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive test strategies, plans, and test suites for multiple concurrent projects.
  • Define quality goals, test scope, and success criteria aligned with project objectives.
Test Execution & Management
  • Lead test execution activities, monitor progress, and report on test outcomes and quality metrics.
  • Ensure full traceability of requirements, test cases, and defects using Jira or other test management tools.
  • Oversee defect management, ensuring timely resolution and retesting.
  • Manage and mentor testing resources as required.
Automation & Tools
  • Design and implement automated test scripts for APIs and ERP interfaces.
  • Select, configure, and optimize testing tools to support project needs.
  • Drive continuous improvement in test automation coverage and efficiency.
API & ERP Interface Testing
  • Lead functional, integration, and performance testing of APIs.
  • Test ERP interfaces between SAP S/4HANA and related systems, including:
Planning tools
  • eLIMS
  • MES
  • Labeling systems
  • Other pharma-specific enterprise applications
Collaboration & Leadership
  • Work closely with developers, product owners, and business stakeholders to ensure clear understanding of requirements.
  • Act as a quality advocate across multiple teams and projects.
  • Provide leadership in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and quality improvement initiatives.
R&D Environment
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment with multiple concurrent initiatives.
  • Contribute to a culture of experimentation and innovation while ensuring quality standards are met.

What you must have:
  • 5–10 years of experience in software testing and quality assurance, including leadership responsibilities.
  • Strong experience in API testing using tools such as Postman, SoapUI, or similar.
  • Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, RestAssured, Cypress, or equivalent).
  • Expertise with Jira or similar test management tools for documentation and traceability.
  • Experience testing SAP (preferably S/4HANA) and ERP interfaces with enterprise applications.
  • Familiarity with testing in regulated industries (preferably pharmaceuticals).
  • Strong understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a changing environment.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally (light travel).
  • Experience testing integrations with eLIMS, MES, labeling, and planning tools.
  • Familiarity with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, Gatling).
  • Background in scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript, or Java) for automation development.
  • Experience with cloud-based testing environments.
