What you will be doing:

  • Excellent leadership, organizational and written/oral communication skills required.

  • Ability to build and maintain effective and professional working relationships with our workforce, project managers, owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers.

  • Review and monitor all design and construction phase documents for conformance with the budget, schedule and prime contract.

  • Nurture relationships with client

  • Prepare instructions and coordinate bidding process; review subcontractor bids for conformance, qualifications, and financial factors.

  • Confer with the Project Superintendent and others to provide input for the pre-bid and master construction schedule. Ensure the preparation of the detailed construction phase schedule.

  • The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who works well in a team environment.

  • Implement assigned duties with an exceptional level of accuracy, timeliness and cost effectiveness.

  • Ensure all project estimates are prepared in accordance with the requirements of the project. Become familiar with each estimate to fully support its integrity.

  • Negotiate and prepare subcontracts, purchase orders, and change order requests to be reviewed by the Senior Project Manager.

  • Create and monitor team schedules

  • Monitor the financial responsibility and past performance of subcontractors prior to award of any subcontract. Conduct subcontractor pre-award checklist.

  • Review the subcontract pre-billing worksheet and monthly progress payment request; and monitor payment receipts and disbursements.

  • Monitor all outstanding owner change orders and change order requests.

  • Control job cost, information and analysis.

  • Adhere to all traffic laws and worksite rules

  • Prepare monthly project forecasts, cost reports and construction billing forecasts.

  • Assure all project activities and closeout efforts are executed after proper planning has been done to conform to standards and specifications.

  • Supervise, mentor and perform regular performance evaluations for all employees assigned to this position.

  • Communicate regularly with team members to ensure work specifications are met and any problems are addressed immediately

  • Process daily work tickets, material invoices, receipts and delivery tickets and input data in system and project specific invoices

  • Manage multiple crews on different projects.

  • Work side by side with employees in the field as needed.

  • Prepare and/or oversee billing to the owner and ensure timely receipt of same. Prepare a monthly invoice log to track the status of all invoicing to the owner.

  • Ability to lead by positive influence rather than positional power.

  • Maintain ethical business transactions and conduct in all aspects of work performance.

  • Adhere to OSHA and MOSHA Safety Standards, comply with Company Safety Policy

  • Follow appropriate protocol for reporting incidents timely to Safety Director and management

  • Other duties as assigned



What you must have:

  • Knowledge of engineering and construction management industry including current conditions and industry network.

  • Must have technical knowledge, scheduling and organizational skills.

  • Leadership of bid process and project forecasting is preferred.

  • Excellent verbal, written and facilitation skills in English; including the ability to influence, negotiate and explain complex processes to clients and staff.

  • Effective computer skills including proficient use of Word, Excel, MS Project required. Experience with Viewpoint helpful.

  • Past experience working with various state government agencies

  • Ability to lead by positive influence rather than positional power.

  • Ability to demonstrate the competencies of achieving results, communication and building teamwork.

  • Ability to work independently or as a collaborative team member, handle sensitive information with discretion, and prioritize work effectively

  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year College or university in architecture, engineering, construction management or related field or any combination of education and 5 + years of experience that demonstrates depth of knowledge of infrastructure construction project management

  • Experience with project control

  • Minimum OSHA 10 certification; OSHA 30 preferred

  • Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations, and applicable Federal and State construction regulations.

  • Knowledge of MS Office Suite, Microsoft Project, and Google Docs. Knowledge of Viewpoint helpful.

  • Experience with government contracts and certified payroll preferred
