What you will be doing:

  • Establish, implement and drive the strategic technical direction of the Health Data Platform Features team by translating business goals into a coherent technical roadmap that balances short-term needs with long-term scalability and innovation 

  • Partner directly with the CEO, CTO, and other senior executives to define priorities, communicate tradeoffs, and report on progress.

  • Ensure the team is effectively assigned to Features development work, with a focus on quality, efficiency and effectiveness,  to deliver on department and company objectives.

  • Lead backlog grooming, sprint planning, and feature release cycles in collaboration with engineering leads.

  • Ensure that team members are correctly tracking hours for billing purposes. Monitor regularly to ensure proper utilization of time.

  • Manage day-to-day work priorities for the team and create best practices; work towards goals and KPIs used (or equivalent) to measure performance and maintain quality service and documentation within the team.

  • Create, maintain and collect relevant KPIs (or equivalent), provide regular feedback and reporting of metrics, to management in order to support decision making.

  • Create and maintain successful and strategic peer partnerships with other teams in HDP and cross-functionally (other products, human resources, finance, sales, marketing, etc.). 

  • Ensure that performance reviews are completed and up to date for each staff member on the team.  This includes having clearly defined goals and objectives, communicating responsibilities, identifying competencies, and creating professional development plans.

  • Mentor, encourage, foster and support the team, providing day-to-day support to improve overall team performance. Regularly review interactions and build strong relationships with other teams and departments.

  • Foster a positive team culture of respect and professionalism, aligning each team member with the organizational competencies.

  • Accountable for ensuring that all working hours are accurately reported in the time tracking system on a daily or weekly basis, that the majority of (if not all) hours are tracked as billable and that the project management tool in Netsuite is properly and fully utilized.  

  • Tracking and reporting of billable hours is a critical aspect of project management and delivery to our customers and this is a major area of accountability.

 

What you must have:

  •  

    8+ years of experience working in a software development organization combined with 5+ years of experience in a product management or technical program leadership role, ideally with a background in software engineering.

  • Experience managing executive stakeholders and aligning cross-functional teams around complex, high-stakes initiatives.

  • Proven success driving product development from concept to delivery in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

  • Deep understanding of modern software development practices, cloud infrastructure, and architecture principles.

  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and storytelling skills — able to speak fluently with engineers and C-suite executives alike.

  • Demonstrated ability to attract and retain highly skilled software development talent.

  • Strong strategic approach to problem-solving that spans multiple teams within the organization, proactively leading resolution to organizational challenges, collaboratively developing new processes with other teams, and overseeing the ongoing success of new processes, altering and adjusting as necessary.

  • Excellent administrative capabilities to continually drive results.

  • Exceptional relationship building skills, communication and negotiation skills. 

  • Competent working with competing priorities. 

  • Exceptional team leadership and coaching skills.

  • Excellent analytical, organizational and problem solving skills.

  • Strong software development lifecycle experience, a background in healthcare IT and or experience working in a tech startup, specifically in an organization that experienced fast paced growth is preferred.

  • Must comply with appropriate background check requirements such as but not limited to: criminal, exclusion screening, credit, education, etc. Such checks are based on the job requirements. The incumbent may be required to re-verify the required checks on an annual basis or from time-to-time as determined by the Company.
