Overview:
Our government client in Regina, SK is looking for a Project Manager for a 12+ month contract to start, with possible extensions, reference #C19003698. This position is preferred to be local to the Regina area but candidates can be remote located anywhere in Canada.
What you will be doing:
Our client is currently looking for one (1) Senior Project Manager Resource to lead and manage multiple information technology (IT) initiatives within the IT Capital Branch, the ideal candidate will play a key leadership role in the delivery of IT projects across multiple departments within the organization.

Overall Project Management: Provide comprehensive planning, coordination, and governance of the projects;

Procurement and Financial Oversight: Oversee procurement activities and ensure accurate financial tracking and reporting;

Stakeholder Communication: Develop and deliver effective communications to partners, stakeholders, and end-users throughout project lifecycles;

Organizational Change Management: Manage the organizational change associated with projects, ensuring smooth transition and adoption;

Project Coordination: Manage, schedule, and coordinate all aspects of projects throughout entire lifecycles;

Team Leadership: Support and lead a proactive, cross-functional project team consisting of both management and non-management personnel. Foster an environment that encourages innovation, teamwork, initiative, and open communication while promoting and modeling corporate values. Recognize both individual and team achievements;

Professional Competency: Maintain a high level of competency in all project management– related disciplines;

Project Support: Assist project team members, as required, in areas such as project implementation, planning, change management, transition, and communications;

Progress Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor and report project progress to Manager IT Capital, the Executive Steering Committee, and other stakeholders;

Stakeholder Alignment: Communicate effectively with all levels of stakeholders using appropriate methods and ensure a shared understanding of objectives by setting clear expectations in line with the project plan;

Delivery Oversight: Provide oversight for requirements gathering, detailed design, and development of the future state

Issue and Risk Management: Manage, escalate, and track issues to ensure timely resolution;

Decision Support: Provide decision-making support and maintain tracking of key decisions;

Resource Management: Lead, direct, and manage project staff to ensure effective use of human resources. Maximize performance through coaching, mentoring, and developing team members to maintain a high level of expertise. Organize and prioritize assignments, provide regular feedback, and take corrective action when necessary.
What you must have:

Post-secondary degree in Business Administration or master’s degree in Business Administration;

Project Management Professional (PMP) certification;
-
Program Management Professional (PgMP) certification; and
-
Minimum of five (5) years experience in managing IT projects within the healthcare sector.

Previous experience in managing IT software or infrastructure projects with distributed teams and matrixed operational resources with budgets more than $2M and staff compliment exceeding five (5) FTEs;

Previous experience driving project management in a busy, enterprise scaled environment with multiple interfaced systems, and established development/test/production/train environment management practices and organizational change control gates. Healthcare/data analytics or information technology setting preferred;

Advanced computer skills, including but not limited to MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project, Visio), including developing presentations, reports and documentation using all MS Office Suite program, and a strong aptitude to be detail oriented, analyze data and develop advanced reports in Excel;

Strong project planning and estimating skills with the ability to create and manage work breakdown structures (WBS);

Proven track record at establishing and maintaining excellent interpersonal relationships with external and internal stakeholders, including well-developed oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate information using plain language;

Knowledge of IT support environment processes and the use of information systems applications preferred, including the ability to quickly grasp and understand technical concepts and systems and experience in working collaboratively with IT and non-IT stakeholders;

Excellent multi-tasking, facilitation, troubleshooting, time management, problem solving, risk management, and customer service skills;

Proven ability to work independently, or within a team in a fast pace and at times unstructured environment with changing priorities;

Strong ability to prioritize and pre-plan, recognize resourcing needs, coordinate people and activities, recognize trends, and work effectively within a team environment;

Good understanding of IT architecture and standards;

Familiarity with recent IT platforms and methodologies in use and understand how the projects are going to meet those needs; and
-
Previous experience in organizational change management across large organizations impacting hundreds of staff.
