Our client's Energy & Sustainability Services (ESS) provides a full suite of solutions to help industrial, commercial, and institutional clients decarbonize and move toward net-zero. They embed energy conservation and sustainability into everyday operations, combining energy audits, modelling, GHG reporting, electrification strategies, healthy buildings, lifecycle asset management, and smart building technologies. ESS uses data, innovative tech, and a turnkey approach from assessment to implementation and optimization, to cut costs, reduce emissions, and create smarter, more sustainable facilities across North America. Why is ESS hiring for this role? ESS is one of the fastest-growing verticals at the companyy, scaling from 3 to 10 people in a short time. Reporting to the Senior Director, Energy & Sustainability, the Energy & Sustainability Analyst will be the first ESS hire in New Brunswick, leading engineering services and aligning operations with ESS strategic goals to drive customer satisfaction, efficiency, and growth. You will deliver decarbonization and sustainability engineering services internally and externally while helping to grow the ESS business in New Brunswick.


What you will be doing:

  • 60% technical focus: Support the ESS mission to decarbonize operations by delivering high-quality, best-in-class engineering services that meet or exceed customer expectations on multiple retrofit projects

  • 40% focus on sales, strategy & collaborations: Contribute to ESS business development by providing technical expertise through client presentations, helping create customer proposals and pitches working closely with sales, engineering & support teams.

  • Create opportunities for collaboration between the company's business lines, work with vendors, subcontractors to assess emerging ESS technologies to support the strategy. Identify opportunities to enhance ESS service offerings and expand technical capabilities. Stay updated on energy engineering and modeling standards.


What you must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering preferred, Certified Energy Manager or equivalent preferred

  • 2+ years of Mechanical Engineering and/or Project Management experience

  • 2+ years delivering HVAC projects for facilities management or services with energy and sustainability component

  • Advanced knowledge of mechanical and electrical building systems and their effect on the total building energy consumption

  • Adept with technical discussions with technicians, subcontractors, vendors. Broad knowledge of energy consuming systems including generation, transmission and storage within facilities, infrastructure and construction

  • Personality: Self-starter, curious, problem solver, effective communicator, strategic collaborator with relationship building skills

  • Ability to translate overall goals and strategic objectives into operational plans and ensure execution, leveraging the ESS team members as well as key individuals across B&M

  • Working knowledge of government and agency incentives for energy and sustainability related projects

  • Software: MS Office, energy management and monitoring, ASHRAE compliant energy modelling, RET Screen, building automation systems (BAS), etc


Salary/Rate Range: $65,000.00 - $70,000.00
