Overview:
We’re looking for a Lead UI Designer to drive the creation of scalable, accessible UI components and design patterns that meet customer needs. In this role, you’ll partner closely with UX, product, and engineering teams to define shared design standards and deliver high-quality user interfaces. You’ll also lead and mentor UI Designers, providing guidance across the design lifecycle while helping grow and elevate the team.


What you will be doing:

• Lead UI design for AI-driven features from discovery through delivery, in close collaboration with UX.

• Own hands-on design work, including user flows, prototypes, interaction models, and final specifications.

• Produce clear, implementation-ready documentation for engineering teams.

• Collaborate cross-functionally to align product, engineering, and compliance stakeholders.

• Mentor designers through feedback, design reviews, and contributions to shared design standards.

What you must have:

• 10+ years of UI/visual design experience across web, desktop, and mobile platforms.

• 2+ years of experience leading designers or major design initiatives.

• Proven success delivering large-scale digital products and mature design systems.

• Deep expertise in design systems, component libraries, tokens, and scalable frameworks.

• Strong prototyping skills to explore ideas, validate assumptions, and iterate quickly.

• Solid understanding of accessibility standards and inclusive design principles.

• Extensive experience partnering with engineering to ensure high-quality execution.

• Expert-level proficiency in Figma and strong visual design craft.

• Ability to clearly articulate design decisions with evidence-based rationale and storytelling.

• A design champion mindset, able to influence leaders and elevate design culture.

Nice to have:

• Experience in enterprise and Agile environments.

• Background in regulated or compliance-driven industries, including financial services.

• Experience with motion design and micro-animations.

• Published case studies demonstrating strong research and problem-solving skills.

• Experience contributing to design strategy or shaping product direction.

Salary/Rate Range: $110,000 - $130,000 CAD
