What you will be doing:
General Superintendent in heavy civil construction

  • Comprehend and administer Client's corporate safety program which provides for a safe work environment for all self-performed and subcontracted operations.

  • Generate and/or adopt to quality requirements and culture; that recognizes the effect of quality on all self-performed operations.

  • Supervise and direct field foreman and labor crews to ensure productivity, efficient use of materials & equipment, and contractual performance of the project are met; for all self-performed and subcontracted operations.


What you must have:

  • Ability to schedule, plan & coordinate all work.

  • Fully versed and familiar with all NYC Labor Union rules.

  • Must be able to provide timely request for material and equipment needs necessary to support work schedule.

  • Able to manage all self-perform craft on site, including subcontractors as required. General Contracting experience a must.

  • 15+ years supervisory or equivalent concrete construction experience.

  • High School Diploma or equivalency; and/or related field or equivalent work experience in heavy civil construction.

  • Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, standard means & methods); owner procedures and standards; company policies, and union jurisdiction, labor agreements.

  • Must have excellent communication, organizational, supervisory and planning skills required.

  • Excellent management skills.

Physical Demands

  • The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit & climb as necessary.

  • The employee is occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

  • At times will be working around large construction equipment, must be safety conscience.

  • Subject to outside working conditions.

Additional Requirements/Skills:

  • Team player who understands and supports corporate safety initiatives to ensure a safe work environment.

  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.

  • Strong Computer skills.


Salary/Rate Range: $150,000.00 - $200,000.00
