Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Interventional Radiology / Cardiology Technologist to join a dynamic procedural team supporting complex diagnostic and interventional cases. In this role, you will work at the forefront of minimally invasive, image-guided procedures, collaborating closely with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional patient care. This position requires strong technical expertise across fluoroscopy, sterile procedural support (scrub), and hemodynamic monitoring, along with the ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
What you will be doing:
Imaging & Procedural Technology

Operate advanced fluoroscopic and radiographic imaging systems during vascular, non-vascular, and cardiac catheterization procedures

Ensure optimal image quality through proper positioning, technique selection, and equipment calibration

Perform image post-processing and ensure accurate transmission to PACS
-
Maintain strict adherence to radiation safety standards (ALARA) and regulatory protocols

Verify room readiness, equipment functionality, and procedural setup prior to each case

Accurately enter charges and procedural data into electronic medical records (Epic)
Scrub Role (Procedural Support)
-
Function as a scrub technologist using sterile technique during interventional and catheter-based procedures

Prepare and manage procedural instruments, including catheters, guidewires, sheaths, and embolic materials

Anticipate physician needs in real time, ensuring efficient and seamless procedural flow

Apply knowledge of vascular anatomy, device selection, and procedural sequencing
-
Collaborate closely with the monitoring technologist to ensure accurate documentation of procedure events
Monitoring Role (Hemodynamic & Procedural Documentation)
-
Record and monitor hemodynamic data, pressures, rhythms, and procedural milestones
-
Operate and troubleshoot monitoring systems (ECG, oxygen saturation, hemodynamic recorders)

Document all procedural details including medications, implants, contrast usage, and device deployment

Communicate real-time findings to the procedural team to support clinical decision-making
-
Ensure patient safety considerations, including allergies and contrast sensitivities, are clearly documented and communicated
Patient Care & Peri-Procedural Support

Assist with patient preparation, positioning, and monitoring equipment setup
-
Collaborate with clinical teams to verify patient readiness (allergies, NPO status, renal function)

Participate in patient identification and procedural “timeout” protocols
-
Support sedation processes under clinical direction
-
Monitor patient condition throughout procedures and respond appropriately to changes

Perform sheath pulls and assist with vascular access management as needed
Department Operations & Quality Support

Maintain procedural room readiness, including stocking supplies and managing inventory levels
-
Support efficient room turnover between cases, including cleaning and preparation
-
Perform routine equipment inspections (fluoroscopy systems, injectors, lead aprons, ultrasound, IVUS)
-
Identify and report equipment issues; assist with service coordination
-
Track radiation dose metrics and support quality and safety initiatives
-
Ensure all equipment is properly cleaned, stored, and maintained
What you must have:
-
Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
-
ARRT certification (RT(R))
-
Current Oregon State licensure (OBMI)
-
BLS and ACLS certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months)

Minimum 1 year of Interventional Radiology and/or Cath Lab experience, including fluoroscopy and scrub experience
Nice to have:

3+ years of IR or Cath Lab experience across imaging, scrub, and monitoring roles

Bachelor’s degree in Radiologic Science or Medical Imaging
-
Specialty certifications (e.g., RCIS, NIH Stroke Scale)

Experience with advanced imaging tools (IVUS, ultrasound)

Bilingual (English/Spanish)
