Overview:
The Solutions Architect scope will be focused on an Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) Program - IBM Maximo Implementation and other asset-based, business-critical technology solutions related to the Enterprise Asset Management Strategy.  As well, will oversee solution design, technology development efforts, standards and policy development in furtherance of the overall EAM vision and organizational change management. The architect partners with key client stakeholders, technology leadership and project delivery teams to determine which technologies to use and drive the implementation of secure and robust end-to-end solutions.


What you will be doing:

• Provides expert advice based on in-depth architectural analysis which involves analyzing the technical environment, enterprise-wide and business requirements.

• Provides strategic consulting support and lead the development of solution architectures to support business objectives. Leads the preparation of technical plans and, in liaison with the IT Enterprise Applications team ensures that appropriate technical resources are made available.

• Provides expert advice on technical aspects of solution development and integration (including requests for changes, deviations from specifications, etc.), anticipating client needs and taking appropriate action ensuring that relevant technical strategies, policies, standards and practices (including security).

• Plans, creates, designs drawings, designs specifications and presents IT solutions workflows, and network architecture diagrams.

• Develops working functional prototypes to present and visual communication(s) to client groups and internal stakeholders for review and approval.

• Updates platform architecture requirements based on changing technologies/solutions, and knowledge related to recent, current and upcoming vendor products and solutions.

• Collaborates and communicates with all relevant stakeholders in order to review the objectives and constraints of platform technology solutions, to determine and ensure conformance with enterprise and business architecture; and to recommend the most suitable solutions.

• Facilitates small to large group meetings for reviewing technical architecture, decision making and problem solving.

• Acts as a key liaison negotiating with key stakeholders to employ the correct tools and technologies. Advocating to improve end-to-end IT solutions.

• Provides input into the strategic planning process for the department. Assesses and recommends relevant approaches to short-medium term solutions, including recommendations for subsequent phases to align with more complex long-term technology transitions. Monitors the external environment and evaluates emerging technology, public sector and market trends. Assesses and documents the impacts, threats and opportunities to the Region.

• Creates reports and technology roadmaps and develops recommendations based on relevance to the Region, appropriate timing and deployment.

What you must have:

• Minimum of 8 years of related experience in architecture, including; solutions design, technical design, engineering and software architecture design, database design and EAM (IBM Maximo) platforms.

• Proven ability to design integration approaches and solutions to achieve robust, secure interoperability.

• Agile Project/Program Management.

• 5+ years of experience working with IBM Maximo Asset Management including asset life cycle including inventory, contracts, purchasing, resources, work management, preventive maintenance and security.

• Experience implementing solutions on large projects with solid understanding on data, security, resilient systems design, integration and application development.

• Solid experience with a variety of architectural and asset management technologies/frameworks.

 Certifications

• IBM Certified Maximo Solution Architect (Proof of Certification must be submitted withsubmission).

• BM Certified Maximo Advanced Deployment Professional - Asset Management (Proof of Certification must be submitted with submission)

Nice to have:

• Public Sector Enterprise Asset Management methodologies and frameworks.

• Agile Project/Program Management.

Certifications

• Zachman Certification

• TOGAF or equivalent Enterprise Architecture

Salary/Rate Range: $115.00 - $135.00
