Overview:
The Transport Refrigeration Technician is responsible for the diagnostics, repair, installation, and maintenance of refrigeration systems on trucks, trailers, and containers. This is a hands-on, physically demanding role suited for mechanically inclined individuals who enjoy troubleshooting and working in the field.
What you will be doing:
Service, maintain, and repair
- Truck/trailer refrigeration units (reefers)
- HVAC and AC systems
- Container refrigeration units and gensets
- Perform installations of reefer units
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues
- Ensure all work meets company standards
- Provide strong customer service on-site
- Participate in on-call rotation (mobile techs)
What you must have:
Open to multiple Red Seal trades OR relevant experience, including:
- Transport Refrigeration (Reefer) Technician (no formal Red Seal required if experienced)
- Heavy Duty Equipment Technician Red Seal
- Automotive Service Technician Red Seal
- Diesel Engine Technician Red Seal
- Commercial Transport Technician Red Seal
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability can outweigh exact trade background.
Salary/Rate Range: $42.04/hr - $46.49/hr + $5.03/hr pension (typical starting level for Red Seal)
